Last two weeks we witnessed three-four different incidents of fire at the hilltop. A significant part of the hilltop (approximately 30%) was ablaze. The cut grass was lit and fire spread very fast becuase it has all dried up. Since the grass was all cut, the flames were not very bad. The leaves were all burnt but they left the stems of the saplings intact. It was very saddening and devastating to see this all happening to the plants that we had nurtured with lots of hard work since last 6 months. On Saturday morning, we called for the water tanker and got all the drums filled. Jassi, myself and Amod watered ( 5-10 litres ) every plant (they must have been close to 300) hoping that the impact of the fire will reduce after watering them.
